Care guide
Read the care label and test any product first.
Use gentle steam to release wrinkles without pressing shine.
Choose padded hangers for delicate straps and shoulders.
Give the dress space in a breathable garment bag.
Good to know
Soft crepe, matte jersey and layered chiffon are often forgiving because they skim rather than cling and do not reflect every crease.
Matte crepe and softly textured fabrics are reliable under flash. Satin can look beautiful too, but its shine becomes more pronounced.
Chiffon, georgette, tulle and lighter crepes usually feel more breathable than heavy velvet, brocade or densely embellished fabrics.
Lighter satin can show creases more readily. Heavier satin and softly draped styles usually disguise them better.
Most can, but lace placement, sequins, bias-cut satin and multiple sheer layers require a tailor experienced with formalwear.
Use a breathable garment bag, avoid crowding, protect delicate beading from snagging and follow the care label for hanging or folding.
